LG’s first foray into the smartwatch arena, the LG G Watch R, felt like a more than capable offer with its Android tech and 4GB of storage (not to mention its resilient battery life).

The only problem was, the G Watch didn’t exactly look great with a suit, which is where its younger brother, the LG Watch Urbane – announced ahead of March’s Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona – excels.

Aiming for a luxury finish, the cases have been updated with gold and silver, and the diving watch cues of its predecessor have been left out in favour of a dress watch approach to business.

This means we’ve got a smaller, curvier face with smaller bezels, a high quality leather strap and a more subtlee design overall, that nevertheless still packs the same Android Wear tech (plus P-OLED 1.3-inch circular display and 410mAh battery) that got us excited in the first place.

Price and release date are expected to be announced when MWC begins on 1 March, so check back and we’ll keep you updated.

Which smartwatch will you be going for?
