But it looks like those days are coming to an end with the news that American powerboat manufacturers Cigarette Racing have teamed with Mercedes to bring us the Marauder GT S, a 50-foot, 1550 horse-power racing boat inspired by the AMG GT S road car.
Mercedes’ visual influence on the boat is clear, with the signature black and yellow paintwork, as well as plenty of ‘AMG’ branding (because powerboat manufacturers are obviously anything but subtle).
The legendary German car-makers also worked on the boat’s insides too, enabling it to hit speeds of over 135 MPH.
For a more leisurely day on the water, the craft boasts 5 seats for your friends and custom audio by JL. Perfect. Providing you have £800k to spare, of course.
