As spring gets into full swing, it’s getting easier and easier to picture ducking out of the office and riding off onto the sunset on a custom motorbike (possibly while blasting Steppenwolf).
Luckily, Triumph understand your need to be free, and have just put together two custom one-off 900cc bikes, estimated to be worth in excess of £100,000 each.
The first bike, ‘The Bobber’ (above), was first envisioned in the Triumph factory in Hinckley where two team members were tasked with creating a new take on the classic Bonneville base. The result is minimalistic, stripped back custom bike, with a fuel tank split in two, with one half housing modern electronic components and the other housing fuel, maximising on-road efficiency.
The second bike has been dubbed ‘The Scrambler’ (above), an aggressive off-road model also based on the Bonneville frame. In order to maximise its country-exploits capabilities, the team replaced the existing steel frame with a bespoke aluminium and titanium chassis, taking it closer to the company’s scrambler-style motocross model. All of which gives the bike a 25% boost in power to match the sleek exterior.
If you want to see the Bobber and the Scrambler up close and personal, head down to the Bike Shed Custom Bike Exhibition in late May, where they’ll be on display alongside a forthcoming between Triumph and Barbour International.
The Triumph-sponsored Bike Shed Custom Bike Exhibition will be held in Tobacco Dock on the 23 & 24 May, thebikeshed.cc
