It's got 32 gigabytes of internal storage, an 8.1 MP camera and it's even thinner than the iPad mini. The Sony Xperia Z has our attention.
Tablets are all the rage right now. While few have bettered the iPad’s usability, others are coming up trumps by focusing on what Apple doesn’t do. For instance, moving files onto the iPad is a hassle of epic proportions – and no, the new iTunes hasn’t made things easier. And the lack of a memory input slot means you can’t just put something onto it without having to crank up the computer first. Niggling annoyances, but annoyances nonetheless.
The people at Sony have been listening to this and the Sony Xperia Z is the result of their eavesdropping. Alongside the features listed above, there’s a micro-SD card slot for easy file transferal as well as a 1920-by-1200 pixel full HD screen, 1.5Ghz quad-core processor, 2GB of ram and Android Jelly Bean operating system. And best of all, you’ll have the smug feeling of a man who doesn’t need to follow the herd. The Xperia Z is Japan only for now but expect to see it on UK soil later this year.
