The Edit | Smell Like an Olympian

The fragrance houses have caught a whiff of the Olympics too.

The London Olympics are so close that you can almost smell them. And with the European Championships, Wimbledon and the Tour de France to squeeze in before then, everyone suddenly seems to be getting very energetic.

Not least the fragrance houses, who’ve been cooking up fresh, sporty versions of their classic scents in time for the games.

But what constitutes a sporty fragrance? Véronique Gautier, General Manager of Giorgio Armani Parfums, says: “From my perspective, a sport scent must incarnate a sense of vitality that is most evident in the moments after exercise, when freshness and comfort are the reward after extreme effort. As these are notes to wear on the skin, they therefore must also be characterised by sensuality.”

Either that or they make you smell a whole lot better after you’ve just busted your gut at the gym. Here’s three of the best.
