The latest designer to join the roster of Nike collaborators has been confirmed as Kim Jones, men's style director of Louis Vuitton via a post on his Instagram account.
This year through NikeLab, the brand have joined forces with Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy and earlier this month Olivier Rousteing at Balmain. The Louis Vuitton collaboration undoubtedly shows Nike trying to branch further into the high fashion world and mix sportswear and every day style. Jarrett Reynolds, the senior design director of NikeLab said to Vogue of the partnership:
"He knows tech, and he's been part of street culture forever, so he spoke the language of Nike culture."
The collection is due out next month and although details are sparse we can likely more of the crazy printed jackets and wild colour palettes that the preview image on Vogue revealed. Given Jones' prior stint collaborating with Umbro and the fact Nike are involved, the trainers are sure to be coveted too.
