The fixed gear phenomenon has swept its way across the capital over the past few years, and with the most enthusiastic fan-bases established in east London, fixed gear is the final word in conspicuous cycling.
it was only a matter of time then, before some artistic soul looked to the fixed gear cycle for inspiration. Once a stylist to the stars - with clients including Mark Ronson and Scarlett Johansson - Harris Elliott now produces super high quality, padded leather luggage (his laptop case is a particular favourite at Esquire HQ).
In celebration of the launch of his latest collection, "Momentum", Elliott - who was inspired by the "great design" of fixed gear bikes - has commissioned filmmaker Manny Bonett to produce a viral campaign "based on the ability to travel effortlessly, while passing through familiar territory and foreign landscapes".
While the film, which features some of the UK's finest fixed gear cyclists, is a lovingly produced bit of celluloid, the collection itself is also rather good. Featuring duffel bags in nappa and soft hide, alongside voluminous holdalls in nubuck, all the new additions come complete with the "H by Harris" signature diamond quilt.
