We wouldn't be at all surprised if this was one of those books where the title preceded the content. Still, Hammer Glamour is an enjoyably fang-in-cheek compendium of the distressed lovelies who squealed their way through the camp schlock-horror films in the Sixties and Seventies.
The book features images of some of the more famous members of the Hammer harem including Raquel Welch (One Million Years BC), Stephanie Beacham (Dracula AD 1972) and Joanna Lumley (The Satanic Rites Of Dracula), as well as more, er, rarefied beauties such as Mary and Madeleine Collinson (stars of the aptly named Twins Of Evil). It's an eye-popping selection and a surprising paean to the goat-skin bikini.
