Making a movie in Los Angeles is not always a glamorous occupation, as Jason Statham (Transporter, Bank Job) found out whilst shooting Crank 2: High Voltage. The film, in which Statham returns as the seemingly indestructible Chev Chelios, was deliberately shot on location in many suburbs of the city that rarely make it onto the big screen.
After surviving a fall from a helicopter at the end of the first film, Chelios discovers his heart has been replaced by a battery operated organ, which in turn means he needs electricity of any kind to keep himself charged.
According to the publicity materials, “Crank 2: High Voltage contains maximum carnage with twice the action, twice the pain, twice the babes and twice the inappropriate outdoors sex. A must see for electrifying entertainment!” We’ll leave you to make up your own minds - it’s out on Blu-ray and DVD on Monday 14 September.
