One of the few remaining British leather goods companies, the Putney-based Ettinger has been producing fine wallets, billfolds and briefcases since 1934, and has held a Royal Warrant to the Prince of Wales since 1996.
Its range constantly changes — the portfolio’s 12 collections now include weekend bags, key holders and iPad cases — but what remains constant is the company’s commitment to craftsmanship. Its products are still manufactured in the company’s factory in the Midlands, where it takes at least five years to fully train as an Ettinger craftsperson.
Ettinger’s latest project has seen it collaborating with leading British tattoo artist, Saira Hunjan, resulting in beautiful, intricate designs carefully burnished onto calf-skin leather. But our money’s on — and more importantly, in — one of its signature billfold wallets.
