Corgi, in Ammanford, Wales, is a fifth-generation, family-run business that has been weaving woollen hosiery since 1892.
Its cashmere socks are made on the same Griswold hand-knitting machine first used more than a century ago. "We’ve got three girls on the machines," managing director Lisa Wood says. "We still only make about seven pairs a day."
