As LC:M gets well and truly underway the fashion elite are finding new ways to showcase their talents. So far, Topman has channeled a 1970s West Coast road trip, Kent & Curwen drew on the world of rock music and the new Hardy Amies collection took inspiration from the late designer’s wallpaper (amongst other things).
In the midst of all this creativity, high-street stalwarts River Island has gone one up, teaming up with Baartmans and Siegel to produce an exclusive film as part of their Design Forum project, focused on supporting rising film makers.
Directed Ryan Hopkinson, the two-minute promo recalls the calm before the storm of a Scorsese or Michael Mann crime saga, with a dark colour palette, a minimal soundtrack, a brooding woodland backdrop and a classic black Mustang. In terms of the clothing on display, we may have just found another contender for our favourite collaboration of this summer’s LC:M.
