Lying somewhere between a neckerchief and a cravat, this spring the necktie is set for a renaissance - worn within an open-neck shirt as a thinner, warm weather addition or as a thicker, fuller neck cosy. "The trick to a good-looking necktie is to go for a soft fabric, such as silk, and keep it thin," says award-winning Savile Row designer and man about town, Patrick Grant.
