Swatch Announces New Smart Watch

Swatch takes its Touch watch one step further (toward the beach)

Watches – the kind of watches we tend to deal with here at Esquire – are built to be taken anywhere. Though they are beautiful, exquisitely engineered and perfectly balanced, they can to take a few knocks, and plenty can be dragged down to unseemly depths without even a hint of trouble.

That doesn’t stop us taking them off and locking them away in a padded box when we go to the beach though, does it?

That’s where Swatch’s new Touch Zero One comes in. It's specifically designed for volley ball players (which is why the likes of Joana Heidric and Clemens Doppler of the Swatch pro team are sporting them, below), but it’s great all round smart fitness accessory too, should you not be so keen on the sport. It’s a step counter, it tells you how many calories you’ve burned and you can even set goals. And in case you were wondering, it shares all the info with your smartphone via Bluetooth.

For a low cost, hardwearing smart-watch, you can’t really do much better.
