In order to get the inside track on where to eat, drink and stay (and what to wear) in the various cities of Italy, you should probably ask an Italian – the most stylish one you can find. However Tod’s – one of the country’s best-loved fashion houses (and outfitter to well dressed men) - has just launched a collection of online city guides, so you no longer have to. The Italian Notes series enlists the help of local experts who offer special insight into each city, and then lists all the hotels, restaurants, bars and galleries you need to visit and why. There are also tips on what to wear for various activities, and unsurprisingly Tod’s famous Gommino loafers feature heavily, but if we’re honest, there’s few other shoes better suited to loafing around a sun-dappled palazzo. At the moment there are guides to Rome, Venice, Como, Florence, Bologna, Naples, Milan and Siena & Montalcino, and more will be added in the future.
