In the past few days alone, the men’s fashion industry has dropped a few bombshells. First came the tumbling dominoes of Stefano Pilati, Brendan Mullane and Alessandro Sartori leaving Zegna, Brioni and Berluti respectively. And now comes the news that Stella McCartney, one of the biggest names in women’s fashion, will be offering threads for us chaps by this time next year. She’s not the only female-focused designer to look to more masculine climes in recent years, both Marni and Carven have done it, but we’re already keen to see how her trademark minimalist, slightly sporty aesthetic will translate to menswear. Chances are, pretty well. She could do worse than to take inspiration from husband Alasdhair Willis, creative director at Hunter and one of the double breasted jacket's greatest proponents, as demonstrated below.
In other McCartney news, father (and member of rock’s royal family) Paul was denied entry to an LA club’s VIP room last night, and the resulting video is hilarious.
