Selfridges Shoe Department

Not content with its status as the ‘Best Department Store in the World’, Selfridges can now claim another global accolade. From tomorrow the luxury retailer will be home to the largest men’s shoe department in the world.

In numbers that’s 72,000 pairs of shoes, 3,200 styles and over 250 brands – we’re talking 10,000 square feet dedicated to your feet.

And from £25 Havaianas to over £10,000 for made-to-order Tom Ford boots, via a pair of customised sneakers and bespoke brogues, the new space is filled with enough footwear variations to satisfy the needs of even the most fervent shoe connoisseur. Selfridges have also managed to score a number of exclusives including styles by Dr. Martens, Burberry and McQ designed especially for the store.

In addition, the department will feature two new salons: one dedicated solely (excuse the pun) to driving shoes, and another where you can create your own made-to-order footwear from luxury brands such as Tod’s, Prada and the aforementioned Tom Ford.

It’s all part of Selfridges’ Menswear Masterplan, a new concept in men’s shopping. “Our aim is to truly amaze our customers,” says David Walker-Smith, Director of Menswear at Selfridges. “Our chief consideration when curating the space has been the idea of shopping by category. This is something we've observed our male clients doing more and more, so it feels like a natural progression to build the department around accommodating that shopping pattern.”

In short: if you want shoes, you know where to go.
