It's a wrap

Heard on a recent visit... Companion: [Archly] “You know it’s just like Chipotle in ‘Merica, which came first. And is delicious.” Esquire: [Stuffing a huge, amazing Chilango burrito into mouth, not really caring that much] “Mmmmm. Mmm-ha.”

We don’t really mind where the inspiration for new Mexican kitchen Chilango came from (other than Mexico, of course) — what really matters is the lip-smacking tastiness of its food. The idea is simple — build your own burrito from super-fresh ingredients in three steps. We tried the Cochinito shredded pork (swine flu joke? Go on, dare you) with roasted tomato salsa, beans, sour cream and lettuce. So, so good, although even the most insatiable appetite will be challenged. London already has two branches (Fleet Street and Upper Street), and we’re hoping that world domination will follow shortly. (www.chilango.co.uk)
