Tag’s latest Carrera does it again.
After joining the family firm as a fledgling engineer in 1958, Jack Heuer (the great-grandson of the company’s founder Edouard) went on to develop the world’s first automatic chronograph.
He was also one of the earliest supporters of LED and LCD display. Now, Mr Heuer, who has since climbed the ranks to honorary chairman of the Tag empire, has done what only a man in his position could do and redesigned Tag’s classic Carrera racing watch in celebration of his 80th birthday.
Though not dissimilar to the 1963 original (a favourite with the F1 crowd of the day), the new 41mm watch includes the addition of a grey sunray dial, which gives the illusion of light rays fanning from the watch face, highlights of red and Jack Heuer’s signature engraved on the back.
