We already know that David Beckham likes his watches and has been amassing quite a collection of different types over the years.
Last night at the Phillips gallery in London however, he showed off what might be the showpiece of his bedroom watch box – this fantastic Patek Philippe Cestial with platinum case and unique astronomical display.
As you'd expect at this price and from this brand, it's a pretty special piece which uses sapphire plates to represent the movement of the night sky and orbits and phases of the moon (as seen from Geneva of course).
The movement itself is so complex it takes months to produce, making this a rare watch to spot.
It was an appropriate choice for a big night for Beckham as he attended the charity auction of some of the most famous photographic portraits – of himself. Photos from Annie Liebowitz and others were sold with proceeds going to 7: The David Beckham Unicef Fund and Positive View Foundation.
