As quite possibly the best man in the world at hitting other men in the name of sport, it's perhaps no surprise that Anthony Joshua (28) defeated Carlos Takam (36) with a 10th round KO in Cardiff last night.

Brought in as a last minute replacement just 12 days before the match, it was hard to really root for Takam against the IBF and WBA title holder – despite Takam breaking Joshua's nose early on with what looked like an accidental headbutt.

But, if promoter Eddie Hearn has it his way, his next opponent might offer more of a fight.

"Deontay Wilder, he talks a lot but he's not really fighting anybody right now. Deontay Wilder against Anthony Joshua has to happen," Hearn said.

"There's also a great heavyweight called Tyson Fury. We want to see him come back to the sport. Anthony Joshua wants to be in the real fights. I promise you and I promise the fans that he will give you the fights that you want.

Of course, Joshua V Fury has been long-touted, and no one knows if it's actually likely to happen. For now, Fury's response from earlier this year is entertaining enough.
