Listen, I get it. There's about a month between the season finale of What... If? on Disney+ and the debut of The Eternals in cinemas. You're probably bored. I'm bored, at least. And more superhero news is usually good news. But we might need to pump the brakes this time.

The rumour on the streets of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (AKA Reddit) is that the one and only Bill Murray will show up alongside Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily in 2023's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Which is great news! Until you look a little closer. Apparently, some sleuths found out that John Townsend, an English actor, has been cast in a film called Dust Bunny, which is actually just Quantumania's sneaky production name. If you look at the screenshot of the listing, it says that Mr. Townsend is a photo double for Bill Murray. (A photo double, FYI, is essentially a doppelgänger for a main actor in a film, for background shots and whatnot.) Now, we have Redditors fan-casting the notoriously hard-to-find Murray in the MCU.

I hate to be a party-pooper on this one, but maybe we should take a break from using somewhat random English men on casting sites as evidence for major MCU news. Do I want to see Bill Murray yuk it up in the MCU? Of course I do. Hell, if this was the '80s, Murray would've made for a good Ant-Man. Or maybe he would've hit a couple chest presses, put on a blonde wig, and called himself Thor. Either way, we should think about shelving this one until the big man, Kevin Feige, speaks up.

Maybe we should be talking about the actual major bit of MCU news we saw today. Will Poulter will suit up as Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. We know that Will Poulter is most definitely not Bill Murray. But he was pretty damn good in Midsommar, if you ask us.
