One of the most puzzling scenes in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is, by far, the Illuminati scene. (And that is saying something.) Who the hell had it on their Marvel bingo card that Wanda Maximoff would make a bloody mess out of John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic himself, Reed Richards?

Obviously, we've all been wondering whether or not Krasinski will stay in the part for the upcoming Fantastic Four film, or if he was merely a variant of the character and is leaving it at that. While we wait for more info about Fantastic Four, which hits theaters on November 8, 2024, we did come across an interesting tidbit related to our favorite stretchy guy not named Gumby. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron told Empire that in his first draft for Sam Raimi's horror-comedy-superher0 flick, he included a post-credits scene featuring Richards.

"In my very first draft, I wrote a tag just for the hell of it, of the events of the movie being recorded and reviewed by somebody in the Baxter Building, and a stretchy hand coming into frame to run it back," Waldron said. "It was an opportunity to do at least something with a superhero he’s always loved on the page. "Reed is probably my favourite Marvel comics character,” he says, "so I was always gunning to get him in here somewhere."

You have to wonder if the Mr. Fantastic moment not making it to the screen has something to do with Marvel's mysterious plans for Fantastic Four—specifically, whether or not Krasinski will stay in the part. If you're asking us, we think Marvel will go in a new direction. Maybe they'll shock us all by casting Henry Cavill in the part.
