The British Academy Film Awards have just been announced and as ever it brought some big winners and some notable snubs.
The Times Up and #MetToo movements loomed large over the red carpet with many of the attendees wearing black in support and several high profile guests walking the carpet with equal rights activists.
Meanwhile inside the Royal Albert Hall the big winners of the night were Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri with five BAFTAs, and The Shape of Water which took three.
Billboards bagged the awards for Best Film, Outstanding British Film, Best Original Screenplay as well as Best Actress for Frances McDormand and Best Supporting Actor for Sam Rockwell.
The Shape of Water won Best Director for Guillermo del Toro, as well as the awards for Original Music and Costume Design.
Gary Oldman took the Best Actor Award for Darkest Hour, while Daniel Kaluuya picked up the BAFTA Rising Star Award.
Blade Runner 2049 took Best Special VFX and Best Cinematography, while Dunkirk and Phantom Thread left with Best Sound and Best Costume, respectively.
Supporting actress went to Allison Janney for I, Tonya, with Call Me By Your Name accepting the award for Best Adapted Screenplay, and Baby Driver for Best Editing.
Lady Bird directed by Greta Gerwig, which was nominated for three awards, walked away empty handed.
Other overlooked titles were Brit movies Film Stars Don't Die In Liverpool, Paddington 2 and The Death of Stalin though competition this year was undeniably stiff.
