An in-the-know YouTube channel that leaked Dark Souls III claims to know the release date, location and details of the next Grand Theft Auto.
We’ve had our fingers crossed for a return to London for nearly two decades, but according to The Know, Rockstar will be returning to Vice City for GTA VI.
They say that an ‘inside source’ revealed the game will be released in 2022 (meaning no more Miami Vice suits), and will feature a female lead character.
The Know also believe that players will have to fly to South America for some missions, and the project is known internally as ‘Project Americas’.
But we’re not holding our breath, frankly. Rockstar are famously schtum about their projects, and consistently change release dates (as was the case with Red Dead Redemption 2). Rockstar President Leslie Benzies recently said: “We don’t know what GTA 6 will be, but we’ve got some ideas."
It’s likely that the company are fully focussed on perfecting (and finally releasing) Red Dead before they turn their attention to GTA, so 2022 does sound realistic. We’ll just have to wait and see.
