There are a lot of reasons to miss President Obama: His stately demeanour, his integrity, his general competence, and, if anything, his overall likeable personality. The guy was genuinely charming, even at his most goofy dadness. And in a new interview with fellow beloved, now retired public figure, David Letterman, the two discuss his dance moves.

“I think the key is what we call ‘staying in the pocket,'” Obama tells Letterman. “You’ve got to stay in the pocket because I think everybody here knows dads who get out of the pocket. And they’re trying stuff that they can’t really pull off. You know, they start doing like karate kicks and all kinds of stuff.”

It's a clip from Letterman's new Netflix series My Guest Needs No Introduction, which includes a number of equally impressive guests. The show debuts on Netflix on 12 January.
