Six years after Larry David's legendary Curb Your Enthusiasm wrapped its eight-season run on HBO, the network is releasing trailers for the upcoming ninth season in tantalizing dribs and drabs, even after some of the new episodes leaked online.

In the last one, he played Julius Caesar. This time, though, he's Batman in probably the grumpiest portrayal of the Dark Knight in history - a near-impossible task in any other actor's hands. But then, Larry David isn't any other actor.

HBO's longest-running scripted show returns on October 1. Guest stars will include Elizabeth Banks, Jimmy Kimmel, Bryan Cranston, and Nick Offerman.

Last month David expounded upon his decision to return to TV after the show's long hiatus.

"You know, I'm not a miser, so to speak. I don't really miss things, people that much. But I was missing it. And I was missing these idiots. So I thought, 'Yeah, what the hell?'"
