American network AMC has announced some new projects in the pipeline, and one show in development looks to be very interesting indeed...

Shock Theatre is a new horror/sci-fi anthology series helmed by The Walking Dead's executive producer Greg Nicotero. The show will have the kind of pastiche vibes that American Horror Story fans go wild for, so it's safe to say we can get excited about this one.

Each episode will be a separate story for viewers to sink their teeth into – and they'll all pay tribute to B movie classics.

The title itself is a reference to a package of 52 classic horror films that appeared on American TV in the 50s, with Universal Studios films such as Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy and more.

Matt Lambert, Buffy the Vampire Slayer producer Gail Berman, and Joe Earley will also serve as executive producers on the new series.

There actually looks to be a hefty amount of sci-fi and horror coming our way from AMC. Rainn Wilson, noted alumni of the US version of The Office, will star in an untitled project in which his body is taken over by an alien, while Underbelly and Wicked West are two further horror anthology series focusing on celebrity lifestyles and the Wild West respectively.

These shows are just in the development stage at the moment, so it might be quite a wait until they're on our screens. Don't worry, though, because AMC is bringing back The Walking Dead for an eighth season on 22 October.
