While everyone is getting excited about a trip to Thailand for The White Lotus season 3, former cast members are still picking up awards for their show-stopping performances.

Most notably, Jennifer Coolidge, who (spoiler alert) plays the dear, departed dizzy heiress, Tanya McQuoid. Coolidge bagged an Emmy last night for best supporting actress – for a second year in a row – and gave a shout out to her key co-stars, who also turned out to be her character’s would-be assassins: the “evil gays”.

She was also the first star to fall foul of the newly-implemented rule that award winners have just 45 seconds for their acceptance speech – and the host Anthony Anderson’s mum, Doris Bowman waved a big hand-drawn 'time’s up' warning sign at her.

Here’s her speedy speech in full:

“I just want to say – I have to put this down as I still don’t have the strength. I got the hook last year, I talked too long and this giant hook came out and takes you away so I’ve got to be so fast. Mike White, thank you for this. Mike White, thank you for giving me the opportunity to play this incredible character. He says I’m definitely dead so I’m going along with it.

“It’s running out so… Dave Bernad, amazing producer, Mark Kamine… It’s running out so I just want to thank all the evil gays, really really. Especially you know, Paolo [Camili], Francesco [Zecca] and Bruno [Gouery] - thank you!”

Bowman interjects: “Baby… baby… I love you, but… time!”

Coolidge replies: “I love you too but I just want to say one last thing! I had a little dream in my little town and everyone said it was impractical and it was far-fetched. But it did happen after all, so don’t give up on your dream.”
