Apple is holding its much-hyped annual event Thursday, which means the rumour mill is going strong in preparation. In August, we saw leaked photos of what will allegedly be the iPhone XS and a bigger iPhone XS Max, Apple's new iPhone X models. Now, a new bout of leaked images hints at yet another iPhone to be announced: the iPhone XC.
The iPhone XC will be an iPhone X you can actually afford. The leak, originating from presentation slides at China Mobile and reported by 9to5Mac, seems to suggest it will be a 6.1-inch LCD phone. The iPhone X is 5.8 inches with a more expensive OLED screen. 9to5Mac puts the iPhone XC's starting price at £700 for 64GB; the iPhone X costs £999.
To clarify, this is still expensive. It's just less expensive.
The leak also suggests the iPhone XS will cost £900 and the iPhone XS Max (which might be called the iPhone XS Plus instead, but who the hell knows) will cost £1,000.
If Apple's utterly confusing naming structure holds for the iPhone XC, it will likely come in multiple colors. Accordingly, a Twitter user and self-named "leaks visualization" designer named Ben Geskin posted what he claimed are leaked photos of the colour options: red, white, and blue.
All of this information could be bullshit. Luckily, you only have to wait until Thursday to find out the truth.
