• Armie Hammer is a fan favourite to replace Ben Affleck as Batman
  • Hammer's pretty excited by the idea, but Warner Bros. haven't been in touch
  • "Who wouldn’t want to be Batman?"

If we’re judging which actor should play Batman purely by the width and structural integrity of their jaw, which we absolutely should be, then Armie Hammer would be an excellent choice.

Alas, the Call Me By Your Name star has poo pooed rumours he’s set to replace Ben Affleck. But that’s not to say he doesn’t want the role, though. Of course he wants it. It’s Batman.

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show, Hammer opened up about how his Bat phone has remained silent despite the speculation.

“None of the people who start rumours are actually the people who can give you jobs,” he said.

“So it’s always like, ‘Oh, are you going to play Batman?’ And I’m like, ‘Well you just asked me, but guess who hasn’t – Warner Bros’.”

Fallon asked if he’d consider it, to which Hammer replied: “Yeah, who wouldn’t want to be Batman? I think every guy in this audience would want to be Batman if they could. It’s a good gig.”

The Tonight Show host also pushed Hammer on reprising his role in the sequel to Call Me By Your Name, but the actor joked that he and Timothee Chalamet would demand “$12 million” each to appear.

Following Affleck’s departure from the role, many fans are pushing for a reimagining of the character. Rumours suggest that director Matt Reeves might even take the character back to the 90s.
