The upcoming Kung Fury movie has added even more star power, as the Terminator himself Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed up to the project.

He'll join Michael Fassbender and David Hasselhoff in the action comedy, which is due out later this year, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie will be directed and produced by David Sandberg, who created the original short film. Sandberg will also reprise his role as the titular character.

The 2015 short, which was funded through a Kickstarter campaign, has been watched by over 29 million people.

It focused on a Miami cop whose partner is murdered, leading him to travel back in time to kill Adolf Hitler – with his journey featuring Vikings, dinosaurs, a zombie army and Hasselhoff.

The new film is set in 1980s Miami, which is kept safe under the watchful eye of Kung Fury through his Thundercops police force.

After the tragic death of a Thundercop causes the group to disband, a mysterious villain emerges to help the Fuhrer attain the ultimate weapon.

Schwarzenegger has also signed up for a Wild West project, as he's set to take the lead in Amazon Prime Video's upcoming series Outrider.

The show, which is set in Oklahoma in the 1880s, will see Arnie play a reckless Federal Marshall who reluctantly partners with a younger deputy.

It will mark the actor's first recurring role in a scripted TV series.
