Despite Arsenal conducting their January transfer business much in the style of an 19 year old with overdue Othello coursework, the club have, finally, confirmed the signing of 28-year-old Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund on a long-term contract for a club-record fee.
Wenger confirmed the signing in a press conference following his side's loss to Swansea last night.
In a video initially uploaded to their website but then deleted, the Frenchman said of the signing: "Yes, it is good news. We need people who can give us more offensive power. At the moment, we aren't enough going forward and I am convinced he will give us that. He has a big challenge in front of him. He wants to do well in the Premier League."
