Thanos actor Josh Brolin has responded to an absolutely wild Avengers: Endgame fan theory.

The idea goes that Paul Rudd's microscopic hero Ant-Man will crawl up Thanos' anus (yes, really) and initiate the Giant Man powers that come with his suit. As you can imagine, this would result in an explosion of flesh and innards – defeating the Mad Titan once and for all.

The theory circled Reddit even before Infinity War hit the big screen, and has become a niche joke among fans on social media – but now it's back with a vengeance and all over Twitter.

Now, Brolin has taken to Instagram after hearing about the bizarre theory, as he posted an old video with an added '#flushanantman' hashtag.

Are we looking at an official confirmation, spoiling the biggest (and longest) MCU movie ever made in the process? Something tells us probably not.

Meanwhile, a recent set of Endgame movie posters has seemingly killed off one popular fan theory, and it involves Tony Stark's chauffeur Happy Hogan.

For fans of Thor: Ragnarok, the posters also confirm the rumoured return of Tessa Thompson's warrior heroine Valkyrie.
