After taking a 50% pay cut for his latest Tarantino venture, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Leonardo DiCaprio is perhaps in need of a blockbuster to help with the downpayment on his summer 2k18 yacht.

Which might explain why the actor is rumoured to be talks with the Archbishop of blockbusters, Steven Spielberg about a follow-up to his Oscar-winning historical drama, Lincoln.

The pair, who previously worked together on Catch Me If You Can, remain friends and DiCaprio even talked Daniel Day-Lewis into accepting the eventual Oscar-winning role in the original film.

The movie would focus on Ulysses S. Grant, the Civil War general who rose to the presidency several years after his ally Abraham Lincoln's assassination.

Deadline writes that, "It provides Spielberg with another interesting way to explore the Civil War, ground he covered in Lincoln. Grant was one of the most complicated military leaders-turned politicians in American history"

However before you get too excited they point out that, they add that, "Pinning down a time when these two titans will work together is always a challenge as Spielberg set Indiana Jones and West Side Story to be his next two films."

They add, "DiCaprio next stars in the Quentin Tarantino-directed Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. DiCaprio and Davisson are developing several big star vehicles including the Leonardo Da Vinci project based on the Walter Isaacson [upon whose work Hamilton was also based] book."

Sadly it seems unlikely Day-Lewis will appear as Lincoln as the actor announced his retirement from acting last year. That said, we imagine Leo would the man to convince him again.
