According to Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard, Barcelona is the best football team in the world, and Lionel Messi the greatest player.

Asked about Chelsea’s upcoming clash with Barcelona on 20th February, he told Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo: "When you are playing football you want to play against the best. In the last 15 years, there hasn’t been a team like Barca and there also hasn’t been a player like Messi."

All of which is interesting, but perhaps more insightful given the news that Hazard has reportedly turned down another offer to stay at the Blues when his existing contract runs out in two and a half years.

With Real Madrid and Manchester United both showing an interest in the player, it's likely that he's sizing up his options before signing anything. So far, Real Madrid have been suggested as the frontrunners, but then, who wouldn't want to play alongside Messi?
