Before he led an entire festival in a "fuck Trump" chant, before he went viral for his 2017 BET Awards cypher, Eminem and Donald Trump were actually friendly. Remember when Trump endorsed Eminem at The Shady National Convention?

The 2004 MTV special, which aired during George W. Bush and John Kerry's election year, was a concert disguised as a political convention with cabinet members 50 Cent and Dr. Dre, campaign manager Ludacris, and an endorsement from "unofficial NYC mayor" P. Diddy.

Trump, who was simply a shady businessman and reality star at the time, was there to introduce Slim Shady to fans. In his opening speech, he sang Eminem's praises, calling him a "winner" and saying he's got "brains, he's got guts, and he's got Donald Trump's vote."

Here is the full text of what Trump said:

"Nice group, nice group. Okay, listen, listen, listen. When the Shady Party called me and told me there's going to be a convention, I said it's gotta be a really big one, and it's gotta be right here in New York. Because this is the best city anywhere in the world, am I right? Of course I'm right! I'm always right! I'm Donald Trump, I'm always right! I know a winner when I see one. And Donald Trump is telling you right now, Slim Shady is a winner. He's got brains, he's got guts, and he's got Donald Trump's vote. Ladies and gentlemen, our great candidate, Slim Shady!"

Fast forward to today, 14 years later, and Eminem is alleging on his song, "The Ringer," that Trump sent the Secret Service to check in on him after his BET cypher attack.

Eminem raps:

But I think it's workin'
These verses are makin' him a wee bit nervous
And he's too scurred to answer me with words
'Cause he knows that he will lyrically get murdered
But I know at least he's heard it
'Cause Agent Orange just sent the Secret Service
To meet in person to see if I really think of hurtin' him
Or ask if I'm linked to terrorists

Trump, however, has yet to publicly acknowledge Eminem and his disses (like he seemingly does everyone else on Twitter), and this has made the rapper very upset.

"I was and still am extremely angry,” Eminem said on his XM radio station, according to Newsweek. “I can’t stand that motherf-cker. I feel like he’s not paying attention to me. I was kind of waiting for him to say something and for some reason, he didn’t say anything.”

One might think Trump is too busy running the country to listen to Eminem songs, but we all know that's not true.
