One of the questions that remained at the end of Season Seven of Game of Thrones was: Is Cersei really pregnant? It's possible that she was lying about being pregnant to manipulate Jaime into staying by her side. Or she's pregnant with another doomed child.

According to one theory recently posted on Reddit, Cersei is pregnant, but she and her child have a doomed fate, if the pattern of deaths following the Red Wedding continues:

Roose Bolton died by being stabbed in the chest in the same way as Robb Stark. Walder Frey died by having his throat cut the same way they killed Catelyn. Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark and there is 1 stark left, Talisa. Talisa died by being stabbed in the stomach while pregnant. 3 Houses arranged the Red Wedding, Bolton, Frey and Lannister.
1.House Frey: Walder Frey 2.House Bolton: Roose Bolton 3.House Lannisters: Cercei Lannister dying by a stab in the stomach while pregnant would mirror Talisa Stark.

When we last saw Jaime Lannister, he told Cersei that he refused to join the Mad Queen in breaking her truce with Jon/Daenerys to fight the White Walker army. When she motions to The Mountain to kill Jaime, he walks away, leaving her with the words, "I don't believe you."

Now, he's heading North, likely to join Jon and Daenerys in their cause. His entire character arch up to this point has led to his parting ways with Cersei, and certainly this will conclude with them coming face-to-face on opposing sides.

In a sort of tragic poetic justice, it's very likely that Jaime will be the one to kill Cersei, stabbing her through the stomach—believing she's not pregnant.

That's about as dark and brutal as Game of Thrones is known to get.
