Idris Elba, our once and future Next James Bond, is having a bit of fun on Twitter. Reports broke this week that the films' producers have finally seen the light and are leaning towards casting Elba in the iconic role, declaring that "it's time" for an actor of colour to step into Bond's freshly-polished cap-toed oxfords.
Early Sunday morning, Elba posting an off-kilter and filtered-to-death selfie alongside a not-so-subtle joke.
A few hours later, he moved to squash the hype he himself had just helped stir, offering some advice from iconic rap group Public Enemy.
We're trying our best not to believe the hype, but that first tweet was one pretty big hint. It's also a bit of a change of tune for Elba, who's previously denied being considered for the role, and has even suggested that a woman play Bond instead.
