Marvel is the decisive winner of the battle between the Marvel and DC cinematic universes. Just check out the Rotten Tomatoes scores for their films—Marvel is riding high with an overall average score of 83%, while DC's pulling a dismal 48%. But in an interview for Kevin Smith's podcast, Avengers: Infinity War writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely were kind enough to offer the poor folks at DC a few tips.

"If someone offered you a fuck ton of money and swayed you to the dark side," asked Smith, "And said, ‘Fix these fucking movies,’ how would you fix the DC Universe?"

"I would look at what Marvel did out of necessity, in that they didn’t have their A-list characters," said Markus. "They didn’t have Spider-Man. They didn’t have the X-Men."

They went down a line and found—I mean, he’s pretty fucking famous, he’s Iron Man, and they made a really good movie out of it. I might put Batman and Superman and everybody else–I mean Wonder Woman is doing fine—aside for a second. Go through the vast world and go, "That guy" or "That girl," and go, "Let’s just make a really good movie and not a universe and see what happens." There’s a lot of spaghetti being thrown at the wall.

Our next chance to find out whether DC's been taking note of this type of constructive criticism will be the release of Aquaman, which hits cinemas in December.
