Last night we got our first glimpse at Iron Man VR for the Playstation VR, and it looks awesome. Marvel has been a lot more active in the gaming universe of late, and with the stellar release of Insomniac’s Spider-Man and the upcoming Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, it was only a matter of time until the comics giant jumped into the VR world.

The trailer opens with Tony Stark and Friday on a private jet to a business meeting, when suddenly the jet is attacked and Iron Man is thrust into battle. There are some small snippets of gameplay shown in the trailer, but those scenes have fairly-early-in-development feel. The detailed HUD screen, however, looks like it will really help you feel like you're in the Iron Man suit. Along with that, there’s some flight and fight shown off that looks great. The game’s graphics are absolutely stunning and hopefully this game works as a full game instead of a tech demo like we see so much in VR.

Around the birth of the Playstation VR, Rocksteady Studios released a Batman Arkham VR, which, for a rather short game, did a lot to make the player feel like they had the strength and knowledge of the Caped Crusader. Hopefully Marvel will evoke the same type of feeling through Iron Man VR and expand more their stellar offerings to the world of virtual reality.

Iron Man VR is set to launch later this year for the Playstation VR.
