In news that shouldn't really surprise us, Disney's Big Boss, Bob Iger, has hinted that the James Bond franchise is in its sights.

Not content with getting hold of Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios, Iger playfully suggested that the world's favourite spy could soon be joining the Disney fold over the likes of Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings.

After being named TIME's businessperson of the year for 2019, Iger sat down with the magazine to reflect on his legacy and look to the future of Disney.

Although The Mandalorian's Baby Yoda provides all the merchandising opportunity one could ever need, Iger admitted that if he could buy the intellectual property of Harry Potter, Gandalf, or James Bond, he'd opt for the latter.

Clearly spotting a gap in the market for 007, he said: "We're not looking to buy anything right now. But I've always been a huge James Bond fan."

Speaking of Bond, the first official trailer for the series' 25th title arrived last week, and it's every inch your typical Bondian affair.

The teaser didn't give too much away, but fans have been promised that No Time to Die will "really shock" audiences as Bond is drawn out of retirement to rescue a kidnapped scientist in a mission that turns out to be far more treacherous than expected.

No Time to Die, the 25th James Bond movie, has a UK release date of April 2, 2020, and opens in the US on April 10, 2020. All the previous Bond movies are available on DVD or Blu-ray.
