The sequel to last year’s adaption of Stephen King’s seminal horror It isn’t due out until September 2019 but casting confirmations are already getting fans excited.

The follow-up will be told in two separate time periods, as the teenage Losers' Club story continues in the timeline from the first film in addition to flashing forward to their adult years.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that, “Chastain is already on board to play Beverly Marsh, the group’s lone female member who as an adult ends up in an abusive marriage.

The younger Bev actress Sophia Lillis had previously said she wanted Chastain to play her adult self, and speaking last year Chastain said that she hopes they can "make it happen". Chastain has previously worked with director Andrés Muschietti on his 2013 horror film, Mama.

Other casting decisions are yet to be confirmed but it looks like Saturday Night Live cast member Bill Hader will play the adult version of Finn Wolfhard's character Richie Tozier - again, reportedly the young actor's dream pick for the role.

James McAvoy is also reportedly close to confirming as the adult version of Losers' Club leader Bill Denbrough.

Slashfilm report that, "In King’s book, Bill grows up to be a famous horror writer, Richie becomes a famous DJ, and Bev has a renowned career as a fashion designer. There’s no word on if the film version will keep these professions, or change them to something else."

It: Chapter Two will begin production this summer.
