The Black Panther hype continues to grow, with the film taking over $200m in the US over the three day weekend making it the fifth best domestic opening of all-time.
And one man is ensuring that no kid goes without seeing the inspiring superhero film, regardless of their financial situation.
Kendrick Lamar and his Top Dawg Entertainment label rented out three cinemas on Saturday so that children living in housing projects in Los Angeles could see it for free.
The Fader reports that "almost 1000 seats" were "made available after Lamar's label bought out 5 shows in 3 different theaters".
This meant that children from in the Nickerson Gardens, Jordan Downs, and Imperial Courts Projects were able to gain entry to the screening by visiting their respective housing development offices.
Lamar, who produced and curated the film's soundtrack, appearing on tracks such as 'Pray For Me' and 'King's Dead', grew up in Compton, Los Angeles. His move follows T.I and Octavia Spencer who have funded thousands of children being able to see the film.
