Netflix has released the first official trailer for Narcos: Mexico season 2, teasing the return of Diego Luna's lead character. The Rogue One: A Star Wars Story actor is reprising his role as the Mexican drug lord Félix Gallardo, the founder of the Guadalajara Cartel in the Eighties.

And as the new trailer makes clear, it's not just the DEA that he has to worry about, with people in his own organisation also ready to stab him in the back.

The second season of Narcos: Mexico (or the fifth season in the Narcos universe) will see actor Scoot McNairy return as DEA agent Walt Breslin, having narrated the first season.

The official synopsis states that the new season will be "chronicling the missteps, ill-conceived agendas, and corruption on both sides of the border that have led to a dangerous present in the failed war on drugs".

It'll be set in the mid-Eighties, as Félix's super cartel starts to come apart at the seams, while Mexico's government resorts to desperate measure to respond to social and political shifts.

All the while, the US is looking for vengeance after Kiki Camarena's death, which can only lead to more violence.

Narcos: Mexico Season 2 premieres February 13 on Netflix
