No Time to Die's Ana de Armas isn't keen on gender-swapping the role of 007.
The star, who portrayed badass CIA operative Paloma in last year's 25th Bond movie, spoke to The Sun about the ever-present question: who should replace Daniel Craig?
For years, names like Idris Elba, James Norton, Richard Madden, Henry Golding, Regé-Jean Page, Michael Fassbender and Henry Cavill have been bandied about, yet there's also been speculation over whether the next Bond could be a woman.
Echoing Eva Green's words, de Armas said: "There's no need for a female Bond. There shouldn't be any need to steal someone else's character, you know, to take over.
"What I would like is that the female roles in the Bond films, even though Bond will continue to be a man, are brought to life in a different way. That they're given a more substantial part and recognition.
"That's what I think is more interesting than flipping things."
Pierce Brosnan, a former Bond himself, disagrees, commenting back in 2019: "I think we've watched the guys do it for the last 40 years, get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there.
"I think it would be exhilarating, it would be exciting."
Just last year, Craig weighed in on the divisive discussion too, where he fell on the same side as Green and de Armas.
"The answer to that is very simple. There should simply be better parts for women and actors of colour. Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?" he said.
