By Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time in Hollywood has suddenly become a lot more sharply formed with the news that it'll have its world premiere at Cannes, which comes with an early pointer as to how long it'll be.
Film journalist Phil de Semlyen tweeted a screenshot of a Cannes communique which called Tarantino "a real, loyal and punctual child of Cannes" and lists the film's run time as two hours and 45 minutes.
Those comments are from Cannes' General Delegate Thierry Frémaux, by the way, and you can see what else he's got to say about the other late additions to the Cannes line-up, including Gaspar Noé's Lux Aeterna, here.
Now, given how frantically Tarantino and his team have been working to get a version of the film together to show at Cannes on 14 May, this might end up being quite an early cut and bits could still fall out before the full theatrical release gets here.
Still, two hours and 45 minutes would be pretty safely in the middle ground of Tarantino's run times - Pulp Fiction, which premiered at Cannes 25 years ago this year, was two hours and 34 minutes, and The Hateful Eight ran to two hours and 48 minutes in its general release version. Just while we're on the subject, the average full-length Tarantino film runs to 142 minutes and 30 seconds, so this one's only just above par.
One more bit of info? Go on then. If you're thinking of prepping for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood with a Tarantino-athon then you'll need to set aside 19 hours of your life, or 20 hours and 53 minutes if you're including the Death Proof half of the Grindhouse feature.
