Everyone loves a redemption story, and there's no more heart-warming than the return of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Depending on your age, the Star Wars prequel will bring out differing reactions, but one thing is for certain – Christensen got a pretty raw deal with the backlash to his performances as Anakin Skywalker.

The love the actor received when he appeared at Star Wars Celebration in 2019 would bring a tear to your eye, and the subsequent embrace of fans has clearly meant a lot to Christensen.

"It's hugely meaningful to me. And the love and support that those films get now, is very heart-warming," he admits in an interview with Digital Spy. "So getting to come back to this character, and to sort continue my journey with him, is just a very cool opportunity."

One of the many things fans are excited to see in this series is seeing Vader in his prime, similar to his appearance in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. However, what will be different is he's still raw from the events of Episode III.

Meanwhile, we'll also see how those same events affect Ewan McGregor's Jedi Knight.

Additionally, when asked about the differences between Obi-Wan Kenobi and the other Disney+ Star Wars series, Christensen said: "Well, I mean, it's called Obi-Wan Kenobi. I think it's all in the title. The character is one that resonates in our culture in such an incredible way, and this is a very dark time in his life.

"I think what's really exciting about this is, we got to see how the events of episode three have affected him, and how he's trying to reconcile all of that," added the Jumper star.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is streaming now on Disney+.
