During tonight's explosive Oprah Winfrey interview with the Sussexes, Prince Harry shared that he is "trapped" by the monarchy, and declared that his father and brother, Prince Charles and Prince William, are "trapped" within the system, too.

After Winfrey implored the Duke to explain how he could possibly be trapped by the monarchy if he lived his entire life in luxury and privilege, Harry answered that he wasn't necessarily enjoying that lifestyle even though there are "photographs of me smiling while I was shaking hands and meeting people."

"That's a part of the job," Harry said. "It's a part of the role. That's what's expected, no matter who you are in the family, no matter what's going on in your personal life, no matter what's just happened." The Duke went on to tell Winfrey that, during his time as a working senior royal, he felt "trapped within the system." He continued, "My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don't get to leave. And I have huge compassion for that."

Earlier in the interview, Harry revealed that Prince Charles had "stopped taking [his] calls" following discussions about the Sussexes stepping down as senior members of the royal family. Of his current relationship with Charles, Harry said, "I feel really let down because he's been through something similar. He knows what pain feels like, and Archie is his grandson."

Still, Harry says that he has hopes for their future relationship. "At the same time, I, of course, will always love him," the duke added. "But there's a lot of hurt that happened. And I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try and heal that relationship."

The Duke of Sussex continued, "But they only know what they know."

Meghan interjected, "Or what they're told."

"Or what they're told," Harry affirmed. "I've tried to educate them through the process that I have been educated."
