By Peep Show's Super Hans was a man who answered the big questions - What's the correct plural of 'van'? Can I skin up using my feet? How thick is wall? - but Robert Webb, who played Jez, has said that the fundamental question of who Super Hans is could have had a very different answer.
Webb confirmed on Twitter that Russell Brand auditioned for the part but was beaten to it by Matt King, who still DJs under the name Super Hans.
This was presumably just after Brand had been sacked by MTV for turning up to work dressed as Osama Bin Laden on the day after 9/11 and just before he became a bit more popular as a stand-up who made a lot of references to his winkly-dink.
Webb dropped a few more interesting little tidbits about Peep Show, including that they needed to reshoot three days' worth of footage because the sound man forgot to record any sound. However, the longstanding rumour that Danny Dyer was in the running to play Super Hans remains - much like the events of Super Hans' horrific New Year's Eve party - a mystery.
